Observation of various paper cross-sections

Advanced sample processing allows for cross-sectional observation without crushing even soft newspaper!

Various cross-sectional processing techniques allow for the observation of soft newspaper, foreign substances within the paper, and the surface coating condition. By observing with an optical microscope, it is also possible to confirm colors, enabling the observation of color toner that is fixed in multiple layers.

Cross-sectional observation of large samples (expansion valve)

Introducing a case study on the cross-section preparation of a large sample (65mm × 28mm) and the observation of its internal structure!

We present an observation case of a large sample (expansion valve) measuring 65mm × 28mm. This sample uses magnetic materials, and due to distortion in the images during SEM observation, we primarily conducted observations using an optical microscope. From the appearance and X-ray radiographic observation, it was found that there are some areas that are not visible in the X-ray. [Overview] ■ Appearance and X-ray radiographic observation ■ Cross-sectional observation using an optical microscope *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Charge photometry: Observation of particles during charging and discharging, such as lithium-ion.

Supports lithium-ion and non-lithium-ion chemical substances! A benchtop measurement device that can be used for electrode optimization and material degradation!

The flagship charge photometry "illumionONE" is a technology that directly measures the process in which individual particles exhibit their functions during charging and discharging through imaging. It visualizes the electrodes during battery operation, allowing for the capture of localized changes in charging state and morphology at the resolution of single particles! It is possible to observe how much material is activated, where performance is lost, and to discover factors that limit charging performance at the active particle level, making it applicable to lithium-ion and other chemical substances. 【Features】 ■ Direct observation of particles during charging and discharging using an optical microscope ■ Benchtop design allows for measurements in the laboratory ■ Fully integrated electrochemical control *For more details, please download the PDF or contact us directly.

Small Room of Nanomaterials: Clear Structural Color Due to Black Carbon Addition (2)

Lighting is important in the evaluation of photonic crystals! Here is some literature information that may be helpful.

The photos showing the structural color of the sample were taken with a digital camera and a digital microscope (KEYENCE VHX-500). For angle dependence, two types of illumination were used. The first type (diffused light) is illumination that does not come from a specific direction, and the sample is illuminated by several ceiling lights and secondary scattering from the walls. The second type is illumination via fiber (Olympus, LG-PS2). The illumination light is directed from approximately 50 degrees tilted from the normal direction. The arrangement of silica particles in the secondary particles was evaluated using an electron microscope. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links.
